Army Lieutenant Pulled Over For Illegal Traffic Stop
POSTED April 27, 2021
On December 5, 2020, Caron Nazario got pulled over for an illegal traffic stop by two cops that held him at gunpoint, handcuffed, and doused him in pepper spray. When the officers ordered him to get out of the vehicle Nazario said “I’m honestly afraid to get out” and one of the officers responded with “yeah dude, you should be”.
When Nazario was pulled over he asked repeatedly why he was pulled over and the officers would kick him and pepper spray him. The officers took him out of the car and held him down while they searched his car. Nazario was concerned for his dog that was choking in the back of the car on pepper spray. Officer Joe Gutierrez was fired due to the events that happened on December 5, 2020. Nazario’s attorney Johnathan Aurther filed against the two officers and Nazario stated “he was afraid if he took his hand out of view, something even worse would happen.”
The week after this incident occurred the officer was fired and stepped down from his position. Nazario was confused about why they pulled him over, and when they started to get violent with him; such as getting pepper-sprayed and held at gunpoint he got scared. Nazario was terrified of what would happen if he made one wrong move or if something would happen to his dog.
