World Series Winners

POSTED November 9, 2020

The MLB just came to an end with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays in a long best of 7 World Series that went to a 6th game and ended with the Dodgers beating the Rays 4-2 in the Series. When the Dodgers won their 6th game it was the first time they had won a World Series since 1988 ending a very long MLB streak without a World Series win and giving them their 7th title. The season started out looking good for the Dodgers, winning 43 of their 60 games in front of an average of 5 million viewers. The Dodgers shortstop, Corey Seager was a big name in the World Series-winning his first World Series and earning MVP with 2 home runs, .400 batting average, 7 runs, and 5 RBIs.

A longtime Dodgers fan, Roosevelt AP coordinator, and former RHS baseball coach, Joel Sage was very happy for this game 6 win. He has been cheering for the Dodgers since he was 4 and hasn’t looked back since even naming his dog “Dodger”. He first started to cheer for the Dodgers because of their pitcher in 1981. Sage loved watching Fernando Valenzuela pitch and thought he looked so awesome so he began to play baseball himself. Through the love of baseball, he made a friend that would meet Blake Treinen and eventually join his favorite team the Dodgers. Sage met him while playing baseball at SDSU and would even get to know him well. So later when they went their separate ways Blake remembered him and gave Sage and his baseball team tickets to come on the field and watch the Dodgers warm-up and watch how they play.
