Devastations in Australia

Australia has had struggles throughout the past years. June 2019, when Australia was left in devastation as fire roared across the country changing people’s lives. March 2020, when the tragedy ended scorching 5.5 million hectares of land. Now in 2021 Australia is experiencing floods like no other, and creating problems all across the country.

According to NPR.org around 40,000 people have been evacuated from their home, with two bodies found dead. On Wednesday March 24, two male bodies were found from a flooded vehicle; one man was 25 and died after reaching the emergency operator for 44 minutes, the other man was unknown. 

The devastation has ruined the homes of many families, and The Insurance Council of Australia has had over 11,700 claims as of the morning of March 22. Citizens have until September,10 2021 to lodge their claim for disaster recovery allowance, $1,000 per adult and $400 per child. The total of damage done is over $6.7 billion, and has a long haul of recovery for the whole country.
