In the early hours of November 13th, 2022, four college students attending the University of Idaho were murdered in their off-campus house. The bodies of  Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, and Madison Mogen were found by the two surviving roommates later that day. Since then police have been able to identify and take into custody the murderer Bryan Kohberger but this took over a month. Investigators looked over a surveillance video and saw that the murderer’s white Hyundai Elantra drove past the house three times before stopping on the fourth. Police were told to look for any white Elantras in the area. On November 29th a Washington State University officer searched for cars like the one described at the university and found one registered to Bryan Kohberger. Then on Dec. 15th Kohberger and his dad were stopped twice by law enforcement while driving on a road trip, a trip planned prior to the murders. Then on Dec. 27th DNA from the crime scene was compared to DNA from Kohberger’s parents’ trash and the DNA was proven to be the father of the murderer. And finally on Dec. 30th Bryan Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania on four counts of first-degree murder and burglary.
