Five years after closing, the Notre Dame Cathedral reopened on December 7th after the building experienced a major fire back in 2019. Since that day, around 846 million euros (896 million dollars) have been donated to rebuild the cathedral and restore it to its original beauty. That evening, French citizens are grateful for the restoration of Notre Dame and celebrate together through prayers and a gorgeous service. There, a standing ovation from the congregation was given to the French firefighters who put out the fire and saved Notre Dame. The service brought guests from all over the world, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, U.K.’s Prince William, and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
