I-29 Bridge Construction

Starting On Friday, March 24, 2023, in Sioux Falls, SD according to https://dot.sd.gov/, the 41st bridge has been reduced to two lanes, one going northbound and the other going southbound. Starting Monday, March 27, 2023, crews have started construction and also Thursday, March 30, 2023, the road traffic pattern will shift again.

 

According to https://dot.sd.gov/,  “Traffic will be maintained in the southbound lanes from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. nightly, while crews remove the eastbound lanes of the existing 41st Street Bridge deck over the driving lanes of I-29.” traffic will be maintained in southbound lanes”

 

Also, people should be prepared for delays and should use alternate routes during rush hour if possible. If you must go to the construction area use caution and reduce your speed. If you have any more questions about the road construction check out these websites:
