On Friday, April 28, 2023, over 500 pounds of pasta, including spaghetti and macaroni, were found at Veterans Park in Old Bridge, New Jersey near a stream.

The pasta was cleaned up last week by public work crews. Soon after officials became aware of this, it quickly became known on a national level, due to pictures of the mound being spotted on social media. Supposedly, the pasta was dumped on the ground raw but became softened by rain and other natural causes making it look cooked. Officials say that they are unaware of who and why the individual/individuals did this. It’s said to have been there long before it was discovered. The mayor said that it did not cause any harm to the environment and considered the case closed.
